I have never come across this type of puzzle before, so I have no clue as to how to work it out or if there is some where on the internet I can find instructions on how to solve these types of puzzles. So I hope someone can either explain how to work the puzzle out or direct me to an internet site with instructions.....

Work out the saying represented by the image.

The saying has 3 words (5,2,5)

I have been told what others think the answer is, but I really would rather know how to work these types of puzzles out and not use others answers.

It's called a dingbat. If you google you'll see other examples.

They are called Dingbats
Letters and pictures and position denote the answer.
This one maybe Peace on earth because it is Ps (sounds a bit like Peace) - and it's ON Earth
