For anyone who has done this crossword. What do the instructions 'the other unclued entries' mean? I have completed all the straight clues but have no idea how to proceed. A hint or clue as to how to do so would be much appreciated. Thank you

I don't know why it says "other", but if you ignore that word, it is exactly as it's said in the instructions. The unclued lights are key words of a quote describing 11dn, comprising pairs of words separated by 3dn. The title of the crossword is a clue to 11dn if you haven't got it yet.
