Done and in the mail, so I can come on here.
As I always try to do, all done in my own head, no cheats, no lookups - tho Mom gave me a terrible time for a couple of days - ridiculous!

What is even more ridiculous, dear Q ( blacksmith, muso, natural "philosopher" and self-confessed pedant), is you coming on here to let us all know you are so clever you don't need any help, or join in to help others. This is, after all, a HELP forum where we help others and receive help when we are stuck, and join in discussions and have a bit of fun.
So, what is your take on Commedia dell'arte (8,8) or do you think it should be (8,4,4,) Meanwhile, here's a little clip to cheer things up a bit xx. End of rant....

The cryptic Jumbo is not usually a particularly difficult puzzle.
More of a slog, to get it finished.

Dear Quixote, Everyone who knows me will readily tell anyone who will listen just how terrible I am at navigating. I have no defence. To quote my lovely children - I'm "pants" at it. I reckon your navigating might need a bit of fine-tuning too. You arrived at a help forum, where people enjoy helping and being helped. I do know that lovely feeling of satisfaction when I actually complete the crossword on my own. Often I ask for a bit of help though and that's okay too. Very occasionally I can help someone else and that feels brilliant. If you are keen on telling people you knew all the answers without help - I know where you should have headed - the enrolment office for "Brain of Britain". Go on, I double-dog dare you! If you have the courage to sign up, tell us!

Maybe "Mom" wont allow that!
