Explanations needed for:

10a Recognise movement in mass (9) CONGERIES, ok for 'con' = recognise, 'geries'?

11a In more ways than one, they make a fine spray (5)
ROSES. A spray of roses OK but the rest...? I erroneously put MISTS, thinking it was M1 + ST in plural.

20a Half-heartedly try to influence peer (5) NOBLE
peer = noble, OK, but the rest...?

10a No, it's an anagram
11a hoses? (in garden)
20a Double the "heart" of "noble" & you have "nobble" (=to influence)

Many thanks Greedy Kite. For Congeries, I should have spotted the anagram. 'Nobble' I was only familiar with as meaning to to injure/ harm. I still don't understand the first half of 11a for 'roses'.

Re 11 A, the attachment for my watering can is called a rose - it's got lots of little holes and does indeed make 'a fine spray'.

Many thanks, Malone. 'A perforated nozzle', indeed, according to Chambers. To add to my list...

Happy to be of help - these little niggles can be very annoying, they nag away at you sometimes.
