I've completed this, but the parsing of the very last listed clue, 54 Ac,. has me slightly baffled. The clue is:- "Coppers will arrest couple hiding head in shame", the answer for which is "PENITENCE".
Obviously, coppers will be "pence", but I cannot get
"item" out of my head for "couple", but I cannot fit
this into the clue, so I guess it may not be "item" in
this respect.

couple = (u)nite
