Just noticed there is no "a".......

I wondered if 22 could be Rats (as in Rats!, annoyed/upset). That's maybe just because it's an anagram of 'star'!

23 The 'a' could just be from 'about'?

I thought of rats as well, but redcurrant is correct for 27a. giving a as the final letter of 22d.
Only thing I came up with for 23d was vent but not sure this is correct
