I didn't find this one too difficult, but will admit to cheating for the bargepole anagram.

Please could someone explain the parsing of 16a - I have a solution for which an alternative clue might be 'sister vessel'. SH is presumably the quiet sleep, but where's the binding?

And I still haven't got 24a, despite JG's hint...
