Good morning,

Just completed (or so I thought)) an alphabet jigsaw crossword but one of my answers doesn't make sense.

Panic, having most of the money £1,000. (4)

Definitely begins with F. FU?? The last letter I thought was a K.

Panic FUS(S) + £1,000 K = FUSK but the only FUSK in my books is a village in Iran. Where have I gone wrong? Thanks for any advice offered.
