Help appreciated parsing these.......

14a. Briefly stand upright to drink old port (7) - BRISTOL (Port)

27a. Swearword - hold it back in speech (6) - DAMMIT (Swearword)

34a. Busy opening swindle, needs such an alibi? (4,4) - CAST IRON (Such an alibi) - How does 'Busy opening swindle' = Cast iron?

38d. Unfortunate to be canvassed a final time? (4-3-3) - DOWN AND OUT (Unfortunate)

18a. One watched one under here (6) - ?I?D?E 'BIRDIE' could fit the definition as in 'Watch the birdie' and 'One under' in golf is a 'Birdie' but that the leaves the word 'Here' unaccounted for so I think I'm wrong.

The birdie clue is at 18 Across, so 18th hole (in golf) maybe?
