Help with SPECIFIC parsing of three answers please:

29a: "At far side of washroom note something by bath". Answer appears to be "Loofah" (something by side of bath). Can see "fah" can be "note", but why the hell should "loo" be "at far side of washroom"???

27d: "Not all of the members getting kits out for battle". Answer appears to be "Forearms" (kits out for battle). I can see that "members" can be "arms", but why should "fore" be "not all of the..." ??? Also, I presume "getting" is redundant?

31d: "Assistant you had briefly set up to protect place". Answer appears to be "Deputy" (assistant), but cannot even begin to parse "you had briefly set up to protect place". Must be being really thick!

Please can one or more put me out of my misery.

forearms are only the bits below the elbow, so not all of the arms?

29A - LOO for bathroom
"far side" probably means "after"

Thanks, Both. Of course forearms are only part of the arms (stupid me), but agree that ye'd very unconvincing (surely there has to be a better explanation) and even if at far side means after, can washroom equate to loo?

when americans say "i'm going to the washroom" we would say "going to the loo"
