I just can't get going with today's puzzle. My brain must
be frazzled in the heat.

1d- I run important circuit the wrong way round,
finishing -line finally providing some comfort (10 ,4)

Palliative Care . I can't parse it all for you, but it has 'lap' (= pal, the wrong way round) and it fitted with the letters I had.

There were too many linked answers for my liking!
