If it is Eats, can someone parse it for me?

Eats is slang for food - as in 'lets get some eats'. lets have lunch.

a cockney would 'eat [heat] sumfink up to make it 'ot.

It's just that Cockneys (supposedly) drop their Hs - so they 'eat' things rather than 'heat' things.
