Finished, but I haven't parsed 3d
Did see a strange gaunt soldier in TV crime drama. (5,2,8)

I don't need the answer (only one plausible solution), but I would appreciate a hint towards the parsing, please.

I've seen it - not the usual crossword "soldier".

After much puzzling over the clues I have managed to solve 2 so far and one of them I am not sure about. I will have another go when I get home and hope for better luck! Nice to know chrise has finished already

All done now. Not very good with shrubs so took a long time to work out the "so as " bit in 13 d.

I also have just finished, in answer to your parsing Chrise
A thin ( gaunt ) para soldier in (didsee) anag
Its tenuous but rather clever i think

Thanks, oldyalan
I got there eventually. I agree - quite clever. Good crossword, I thought.
