Good afternoon jolan. I'm echoing jazzy in hoping you both have a great holiday and (apart from #1), having to write them down for later. Cheers.

Hi Jazzy and ginge. Just popping in between mowings. The weather had clouded up here and it's not so hot now. Off out to do the remainder now. CU

1 hands up? (sailors might be "hands", "up" on the crosstrees; gesture of surrender.

2. I wanted to get "bling" in for the accessories and i N, E, S or W (bridge players, so one is a "person at table"), but I couldn't get a word, so I wonder if the answer is SINKING?

3. DUELS - sounds like (ish) "jewels" or "rocks"

4. SPANISH CUSTOMS - double definition

5. TOSSPOT - "toss" = "shy" (as in throw), "Mary Jane" slang for "marijuana" or POT

Thanks again, jolan. Enjoy your break.

I still cannot solve more than two:

1. hands up
4. Spanish customs

I knew Mary Jane was Marijuana, but I was looking for a word with weed in it !!

Have a lovely relaxing break John . I know Helen appreciates all that you do for her. Take care. x

Well done Chrise (all but #2) and Jazzy. Where is everybody today? I suppose Ari is having the usual site-difficulty (or gone to a doughnut eating championship?)

I'll leave #2 out there for the moment (I hesitate to give a hint) and will come back later, after din-dins.

Hello, Jolan. I checked in earlier and saw only 1, 4, and 5 and had to run off. I would never have thought of duels and jewels as homophones (we must pronounce at least one of them differently over here). I was thinking toils for 3 ( usually used in plural for net) with rocks meaning rockfish (as it does). I too tried bling- and rig, but don't see an answer yet.

Tad late for the main event, but could 2 be "setting"- "going down" and "accessories for one person at the table"?
