One of Maltby's favourite formats, & probably a bit more of a challenge than lately.

July puzzle:

June solution:

Please download, then print.

Photocopier died today, so it took a little jiggery-pokery to get a scan.

Delightful, slight hiccup until I realised an alternative american spelling in one of the "6" s.
Love 11a and smiled at 23d.
Roll on "August".

Thanks, syzzie! Most enjoyable. I often like the simplest ones best, like 28a and six-letter c and k. I too smiled at 23d.

Forgot to mention Americanisms @ 7e, 6i, 6L (name).

@ginge
Maybe 11A should be added to the above list.
Considering the cultural cross-pollination of the Web, it's sometimes hard to tell how common some terms are.

@aristo
My note for 28 A - technically for parsing, "forward" should have been "backward",
That even reads better. Consider the effect of acceleration.

6k - yes, nice one.
* 6c - obviously a [container] but the parsing escapes me.

@both
Thought 23 D & 6e might be considered in bad taste.
My "B*mbi" experience still haunts me. (-8

Another one that baffles me.
* 7a - [def] "Big plain" is clear, but ...
ballet movements ? No luck with any dictionary or Google.
What am I missing?

Hi syzygy, I don't normally have problems accessing this site but this is me only getting on having tried numerous times in the last 3 hours. Hopefully this is not going to be a regular occurrence as I am not known for my patience (I'm even more sympathetic to your plight now aristo)!
Personally, I'd rather you didn't highlight any "Americanisms" beforehand as it might inadvertently
give something away (after all it is only to be expected
in an American crossword).
Re 23d & 6e; in general I think "political correctness"
has removed humour from a lot of aspects of society
today and a little black humour, if not malicious,
brightens the day (especially in crosswords as it's only
wordplay after all).
Re 7a, is it not a simple homophone of "steps" with "articulated" the indicator?
Having to post before I lose this as it's "freezing" regularly and each instance is longer!

It appears I forgot to set the "Share" option for the June solution.

Should be good now.

Cheers again Syzzie.
Finished it last night, I've sent you an email RE: Steppes, but agree with ginge as a simple homophone.
Night all.
