Took your advice about editing and my posts are still at the bottom instead of the top!

I have completely logged off after making the changes and logged back in again. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure why the order of posts are reverting. There is no need to log off when you make changes. Just return to the forum. Maybe, when you close down your pc, laptop or tablet, the order is reverting of its own accord but this should not happen. I remain logged in permanently on my laptop , but on iPad I have to log in each time but the order of posts stays the same.

I 've had the same problem over the last few days , Linda, in that my posts had reversed their order, but since altering it as Jazzgirl very kindly instructed, it seems to have righted itself.
BTW, I have to log in each time I come on my desk top, Jazzgirl; I don't seem to have any choice about this?

I discovered that , by not logging out before shutting down the laptop, I was still logged in when I next clicked on the site, but I don't know why this is. maybe newer laptops automatically log you out for security reasons, but my laptop is very old !

I'm not very computer literate, so don't understand the niceties! - I never log out from the crossword site, but do log off from my desk top ( a new one incidentally as the old one died on me) ????

maybe it is something to do with security, so that anyone other than you cannot post in your name. It's a good thing.

Yes, thinking back to the fairly recent impersonation problems , I guess it is.

Thanks every one I will try Jazzgirl's suggestion ,and not log out see what happens. The bones of Technology is not my strongest point either but get by.

Just noticed that if you are browsing the forum without
logging in, the posts automatically show oldest first.
After logging in, the posts will show in the order you have personally chosen

I'm a bit slow today - you are absolutely correct, there, jazzy. Default is oldest first; your choice (when logged in) overrides this.
