I think this is correct (apologies if not), but need help with the parsing...

9d. Police leader concerned with the person following suspect provides final irony (5,2,3,4) - STING IN THE TAIL (Final irony) I think 'Person following' might be 'TAIL' but that's about as far as I get.

7d. Religious song about Saint's pre-eminence (5) - PSALM (Religious song) I can see 'S' for 'Saint' but what is the rest?

13a. Military group holding test's overthrown old empire (7) - OTTOMAN (Old empire) It looks like 'O' = Old + Test = MOT, but what is the 'Military group' for NAT or TAN?

The lead singer of the "Police" was Sting," concerned" = in, "the person following" = the tail.
