13A - "Stone cask sent over for spice" (6) Have got NUTMEG - STONE = NUT but can not see why MEG?

24A "About to turn it on, stop working" (6) Have got RETIRE (stop working) RE= about and TI from turn it but the other RE?

14D "Violet abandons lightweight suit" (5) Have got TRIAL - TRIVIAL without VI. What's the connection between suit and trial? OR! have I got the wrong answer anyway?? Cheers.

Thank you rogerjw and chrise. Could kick myself over the nutmeg one! I let my brain stay fixed on stone = nut and didn't think it over!
Suppose trial could be suit.
Still not sure of retire tho - can ON mean ABOUT or am I missing something else!
