Are you sure about the SE. I can see the K (kettle's "lid" at back), but none of the (three!) words that Chambers word Wizard finds for your letter pattern makes any sense to me.

The 3rd definition of cook (or kook) in Chambers is; to dart in and out of sight; to prep (origin obscure) so
seek? See, to learn = store?
