Afternoon all,

I'm in a quandary with a sticky little clue and would like your spin on which way to go with it.

1d) Drain made by bore with time running out (4)

I have; S - C -

Here is my parses for two answers that fit and would like your opinion on which to go with please.

1) - to bore into something is to STICK it in - Minus the 'T' (time running out) = SICK / To be SICK is to DRAIN fluid etc from the stomach.

2) he bore into something could be - he STUCK it in - Minus the 'T' = SUCK / to SUCK out (maybe liquid from a glass) would be to DRAIN it.

Seeing as the 'S' & 'C' are the crossers and no way of finding the mid-vowel from another clue, it would be nice to hear your thoughts thanks.

Cheers, Les40

I thought the same way as Jazz.

I stuck/bore it for as long as I could.

Cheers folks,
suck will do nicely
I'm still s(t)uck on three other clues but will think about them a bit longer before I cave in.

Have a great day, les40
