Last two, 46 d, Call of songbird in Henley's interior (7)

53 a an early meal dropping middle section to the side.

Having solved some I regarded as difficult/obscure I am prepared to accept these two are easy/ peasey!

Thanks to both, I might have got abreast but never entitle, tit's, whilst fun birds are not songbirds. I was born a pedant.

The tits make a variety of calls and songs. They are amongst the most vocal of all birds, calling continuously in most situations, so much so that they are only ever silent for specific reasons such as avoiding predators or when intruding on a rival's territory
