Hi there ! I use this site quite often & BT is Belfast Telegraph, which has cryptic clues only on Saturday. The daily one has quick and cryptic clues.

Thanks to all for the many kind and helpful offerings – aren’t there a lot of puzzles? I shall now try and find time to write out a list of what’s what and establish which I can try without having to buy the papers! I’m hoping that most are available online, even if not interactive.
Thanks also, Bernie, for taking the trouble to offer helpful advice.
Thank you also, Jazzgirl, for ‘bringing me forward’. I have been away for a few days in my old stamping ground in London. Everything there now seems to depend on smart phones to work – booking and paying for taxis, reserving a table, ordering and paying for drinks in a bar before you get there. This is all a bit alien for a simple Somerset lad who can’t even get a signal at home and so doesn’t have a smart phone!
Finally, isn’t it strange to see how many subscribers ignore simple requests made in the Forum. Since my original plea there have been headings such as ‘unsure about this’, ‘books and their authors’, ‘herbs and spices’, ‘definitions’ and ‘cryptic’!

We don`t necessarily ignore requests. I sometimes look but can`t answer. No point in posting `I don`t Know` !

I think kenyatta was making a point about the continuation of unhelpful thread titles, mags.

Kenyatta, regarding titles like "stuck", "last one", etc.
The Posting Tips are right in front of anyone submitting a query. Trying to get each and every one posting according to Posting Tips, is akin to herding cats.
Nigh on impossible.
The majority of posters submit their queries in a simple clear fashion.
Seems to work OK, in the main.

Thank you, Rusty, for your comment.

If you read the first part of my opening contribution again, you may understand why I asked for more clarity in titles.

It was certainly not meant as some sort of disciplinary requirement just to make me feel good.
