2. RECTIFIER: def. "elec.dev."; anag. "refit officer" - "off".
3. ARAMAIC: def. language; ram-ai(r) (hit tune) inside AC (current).
4. BUFFALO BILL: def. Western showman; buff(freak)-a-lob(pitch)-ill(bad).
5. ARCHANGEL: def. port; "change"(some money) inside "harlot " - "hot" = Arl.

My offerings are:

2. Rectifier (electrical device) subtracti ve anagram ( refit officer minus off)
3. Aramaic (langauge ) hit = ram; tune (lacks an ending )= ai(r); current = AC
4. Buffalo Bill (Western showman) freak = buff; a pitch = a lob; bad = ill

1- At first thought PRO PS, but then PODIA, though wasn't sure if "up" worked with across clue
2- RECTIFIER (subtractive anagram)
3- A RAM AI(R) C
4- BUFF A LO B ILL
5- AR CHANGE L

Ari. What a shame! If you use Windows, you might try Windows forum. I've found the folk there can solve most problems .I've only got the address of Windows 7 forum but the rest will be easy to find, should you decide to have a go.

Your post's arrived all right Ari. Never considered the "up" bit. You're right, of course. I can only say my screen was slightly tilted at the time :)) Or maybe it wuz my head.
