I seem to have spent forever and a day on this puzzle, but I'm there at last! Just cannot parse this
clue 100%:- 33D - "Twelve surrounding Republican
politician in that town". The answer is
Northampton, but I can't see where "twelve" comes
into it. (the answer to 12D, incidentally, is "dance
floor", in case that should have any bearing on the answer).

Noon at beginning and end of Northampton
R republican
politician MP and that

I think that's it.
