Once I'd found out what it meant I could see "touchy" and that reminded me of the coverage of the trial of the multi-talented tripedal entertainer .

Les: Sorry for the delay. I had to run off as soon as I'd posted and then couldn't get onto the site, and when I finally did it wouldn't let me log in- and then I couldn't get on at all again! I did think the definition was a bit of a stretch, though I probably would have worked the answer out eventually if I hadn't known it. Odin can certainly be called autochthonous in the context of the Norse world, but I don't think representation of him can be called autochthony (nor can it be called an autochthon). The wordplay's great otherwise.
