If 22d Despatched to the interior.(5) e???n is EATEN, then the first letter of 25a is T

There is a word TEARPIT in 'Quick Solve' but can't see how this would work.

25a. Trampet?

I have trampet. a small trampoline

Thanks Mattrom and Jazzgirl, I am sure you are both right, I didn't come across that word in my searches. Do you think that the SAGA Xword is not quite as difficult as it used to be.?

I still find it a bit tricky in parts and easy anagrams in other parts . One or two obscure words still crop up

i found trampet in my Chambers 12th edition, also spelt trampette
