I used to feel fortunate that I didn't suffer from pop ups. How the situation has changed and I don't know why.
PLEASE could someone remind me how to prevent this intrusion?
Thanks

There is a problem at the moment with people using iPad. I am investigating the two companies involved in blocking logging in and causing full-screen games app. adverts. Awaiting replies from admin. Other adverts can be avoided by downloading a good AdBlock. However, remember it is the adverts that help pay for the free site which we use.

Ah, I see. Yes I do have an iPad and it is the games apps ads which completely take over the Forum and make me have to start again.
I don't mind the ads which appear and don't intrude. It is the in your face unavoidable ones that particularly annoy.
I will wait to see what admin have to say.
Thanks, Jazzgirl

The two companies are "tracking" so if you are using ipad you could check your browser settings which may help.
Open "settings" on the main screen.
Click on "Safari" (or whatever browser you use)
In the Privacy and Security section, switch ON "Do Not Track" but also read the notes underneath

Just to let you know that Ash is looking into these pesky adverts and hopefully he will sort something out.

I don't have an I pad [ whatever that is ] and still get pop ups if my mouse strays too near the edges. I just ignore them.

It's difficult to ignore them when they cover the entire forum page as does the one for Enterprise cars!

I put up with the pop ups as I have got used to them. However, this latest "tracking" advert. actually prevents you from logging in, or posting, as it diverts you to Games apps which you are forced to view and then delete before you can attempt to log in again. This is far worse than the pop ups one generally sees. However it is good to see that Ash and his team are trying to solve it. Those not using iPad are not having this problem
