Is there a way to search a thread that has a lot of posts on it? More than one page's worth. Typing a phrase in that I would think had been asked does not seem to work for me.

The search thread only responds to the subject title.

From my limited experience, the answer is No.
If you need help can I suggest you start a new thread - you will almost certainly get the answer you are looking for from the many helpful members of the Forum.
You may also get some contributors telling you that you shouldn't have started a new thread. I suggest you ignore them!

Another way to search is to enter the clue or phrase into Google with + crosswordsolver.org

e.g. "Lively Parisian dance" + crosswordsolver.org

and often it will direct you to the thread which may have appeared on this forum. Or just post a new thread and you will receive help

I agree with K if you start a new thread these lovely people will give you an answer. It is a great site for those of us that are crossword mad.
Though I am a bit of a cryptic clue novice I have learned sooooo...much from these very clever people. Keep at it it is so worth it.
