Since no-one else seems to have complained, am I the only one to be unable to print it this week? I know lots of people have had problems with Guardian crosswords, but so far I have been lucky.
I have completed the crossword, having drawn the grid and clues on paper, but the excercise has taken me twice as long as usual - very frustrating!

No, you are not alone, though that is little consolation.

Fortunately, we get the Observer every Sunday anyway, so I am able to do it in the paper (strange sensation, though - I prefer to print it off to solve it)

If you need help with any of the enumerations etc. I'll be around for an hour or so.

The message board on The Crossword Centre (website) usually has someone moaning (re the Java problems) and someone supplying a link. I think that's happened this week, so you might have managed to get the grid from there. Have a look - for if and when it happens again!

Thanks, both! If they don't sort it out tomorrow, I will have to send it in as bad artwork!

Solution supplied by Guardian subshelp which worked for me:
• Go to the Java Control Panel (On Windows Click Start and then Configure Java)
• Click on the Security tab
• Click on the Edit Site List button
• Click the Add in the Exception Site List window

• Click in the empty field under Location field to enter http://www.theguardian.com
• Click OK to save the link.
• Click Continue on the Security Warning dialog

Is no one else stuck on this?
I need 21 and 22 down.
21 Rule in eg French decribed. I have ?RA?N. Drawn maybe.
22 Brief letter, one from Greece that's yellow on fading.
P?I?EM. Chambers word wizard says no such word.
Oh also 30 across - I have a letter missing.
And why is 29 a non-cryptic clue? 31 is the non-cryptic specified to create a cryptic clue for.

22dn seems to me (I don't do this crossword) to be Philem.
It's a Biblical letter as in Letters to the Ephesians
Phi is Greek letter
Lemon. yellow
on fading (remove ON)
