Filled in the grid, got the theme and the extra words - but having trouble with some of the groups of letters to be highlighted. Is that one of them in the top row?

Not up to your level yet Nelson. Can you or anyone help with 15a? I have Isaiah but cannot parse. Reeds nursemaid divided in a sort of way. (A single letter is superfluous to a jumbled word in the definition part.)

jogamel - aia is a nurse and -ish in a way. Take out D and get seer.

nelson - I think one of them is in the top row and one is diagonal. I'm still looking for a couple.

Sorry - I misled you. There is not one in the top row but look in the SE corner for it instead. And I should have said at least one is diagonal.

All but one are centred on the main diagonal, running up at right angles to it - the other is shifted up slightly.

Can anyone explain how the anagram TRAMS - M works in the definition to 35d - I presume it's a double definition clue, but there seems to be a missing N ?
