Still stuck on a few. 32A Stick at protecting peace project: ?S?P?A??. 23d A barrel with chlorine for city in Greece or Bulgaria, say: G?E?? ?N?L? And 54a One angry if out to lunch with nothing to eat: E?O? R?N?Y And, while I'm on, for 7d I presume the answer is "pedro", but can't see why. Any help greatly appreciated: got to start the next one tomorrow!

Thanks, both. Still not sure about ashplant. Get the letters "a" and "t" protecting "plan" (project) and ... presumably "sh" for peace? Bit far-fetched, though, isn't it?

Ashplant is
a sapling from an ash tree, typically used as a walking stick. I think the parsing works .

For what it's worth, the parsing looks fine to me!

Well, yes ...ok, I suppose. To me "sh" suggests quiet rather than peace - not quite the same thing. Over and out, leaving you in peace!
