Using bow (on a violin) is FIDDLING

Wrapped around imaginary (AIR) cat (TOM) gives FAIR TO MIDDLING

I can see most of it...

Using bow - Fiddling
Cat - Tom

Not sure how they are getting 'air' from wordplay unless it is 'imaginary'.

Playing air guitar, means playing an imaginary guitar.
Could that be it?
