It does not bother me in the slightest, if people add to a thread, or start a new one.

That seems a very sensible and realistic perspective, rusty!

This is a draft which I suggested to admin last October 2013 to accommodate all the points that people had asked for. They said they would add it to their "to do" list. I have added point 4. Please feel free to alter, add, or make rude comment about(joke) :
 
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE POSTING TIPS

1. In the "Subject box" enter the name (and number, if available) of the puzzle
and whether it is GK (general knowledge) or Cryptic.

( "last one" "Help!" or " stuck" are not helpful titles)

2.    In the "message box" show the Clue number, the clue. exactly as it is written in the
puzzle, and the number of letters e.g. (8)
If the answer requires more than one word, show this also e.g. (4,5)

3. Show which letters you have already placed and use ? for any missing letters, as this makes it much easier to read.

4. If there is already a thread started for the crossword you are asking about, it is better to
add your question to that thread, using the "reply to post" box.

5    Remember to thank those who help you. This should be added to your original thread using the "add reply" button, or the "reply to post" button. Please do not start a new thread just to thank someone.

That looks eminently sensible, jazzy. The only query I would have is whether people would tag "easy", "Times2" etc. as "GK".
