I've battled my way to the conclusion of this intricate
puzzle, and am just wondering about the spelling
of a fictional name in one of the clues. The clue for
11 Down is :- "ACTOR VAINLY PLAYING MADAME
ARCATY", the answer, of course, being an anagram
of part of the clue. In all references to this role from
Blithe Spirit, the only spelling I am aware of is
"ARCATI", so would Coward have possibly spelt her
name this way? Not something of massive importance, but I was just curious to know about the
alternate spelling.

I'm sure you realize it's spelt that way in several entries on the Net, but that of course proves nothing: the original was definitely Arcati!

Thanks, Greedykite - I'm always a bit of a stickler when it comes to spelling, but, as I say, this is not a
worldshattering digression!
