What have the correspondents to Crossword Forum done to deserve the unwelcome, intrusive and distracting advertisements that cannot be eliminated?

The ads fund this site which we get for free. Without them there would be no forum

I accept that sites have to be funded but why have the advertisements only just appeared? Actually I would not mind paying a subscription to use the Forum - anything is better than information one doesn't want; It's cold calling.

Try Adblock Plus (adblockplus.org).

Since I installed it, it has blocked 27,855 advertisements!

This subject has been debated many times in the past on this Forum. I suggest you get in touch with Admin and express your opinion to the owners of the site.

I really don't take much notice of the ads and if it means we get this forum for free because of them, I for one is happy as it is a great site.

Cheers. L

I agree it's a great forum and I can tolerate most of the ads as I just delete them.
However, I'm finding the BT ad particularly annoying as I can only delete it by leaving the site and going back again. Unless I'm missing something.

Since my first post about abblockplus.org (over seven hours ago), the number of advertisements it has blocked has gone up from 27,855 to 29,069.

I wish I could earn a pound for every advertisement it blocked!

I forgot to say in my original post that it blocks advertisements on all websites you use and is free to download.
