I can see 'fouls' which could be wrestling manoeuvres, but I don't see how the rest works. Any advice welcome.

A foil is an incomplete fall in wrestling and it is anything that sets off something else. Both definitions quoted are from Chambers Dictionary.

Thanks - I'd considered 'foils' earlier, but (mistakenly) decided that that referred only to fencing.
