Hi Ixion, I can see how how the clue is constructed but it's why DRAT = Sugar that i'm puzzled about.

Ok I've got it - it's a mild swear word.

Sugar is a euphemism for S*** , as is drat.

Stumped on the other one.

DORY is correct

R(egularl)Y gutted is RY on DO which is “cook” as in “do the dinner”

Dory looks okay - cook = do + the outside letters of Regularly - RY - regularly gutted = the inside letters removed from regularly
