A made a point about this to Ixion at the time on the original thread.

On Monday 4@4 I also had a dig at both Jolan and Ixion again about laxness. With ADMONISH the prize aimed at multiple posters

I am not a multiple poster and MY dig at the time was on the same thread as someone who had previously complained.

I made my feelings about multiple postings on this site to Les40 many months ago (And if necessary will post them on this forum for all to see>

Ixion (I was expecting Cavalry charges, blood explosions etc) Although Putin may be taking a sky dive into the history books with this one (I suppose its' better than being remembered for gay bashing olympic games)

I have always enjoyed your clueing ixion,(my beef was that you had not selected a prize and then posted one you had posted before)

I can see why Les and rambler might have thought that stevezodiac and imagcq were one and the same – would either care to explain?

I'm so pleased about your post, chrise - thanks very much indeed. I was (am) completely in the dark about this double posting thing until les40 accused stevezodiac.

It never entered my head that imagcq and stevezodiac were the same until imagcq's post - I thought imagcq was saying he was stevezodiac. I am heartily sick of the whole affair and if I've done imagcq a wrong I am sincerely sorry.

My post actually comes later on in the congratulations, and having just logged on (I did not read everybody elses congratulations and just posted my own)

I have only ever played as myself (A point i made some months ago to LES in a private email discussing the forum in general)

However as long as Im not being accused? Your apologies are excepted and my apologies to you all for this confusion! (Which i might add i did not start)

OK, let's get this out in the open so certain parties can either own up to multiple guises who like to adopt alternative personas to keep things interesting (which I have no problem with) AND certain parties that adopt alternative personas to vote for themselves which makes things very untidy indeed and creates an unfair playing field within the clue construction competitions (which is irksome to say the least).
IMAGCQ. We did indeed have a email conversation to which I was in agreeance with you RE: multiple pseudonyms. May I add that at no point did I name you as the alter ego of SteveZodiac and never for one minute suspect you of being him so not sure where that's come from.
It does look like you are admitting you're him in a previous post but it also seems that you are saying you're not in another which confuses the matter a little.
So, let's go back to the beginning and start again. The person I feel is masquerading as SteveZodiac is Redundantelf, so it would be great to hear from you Red elf. I also have a strong feeling that you are also Samgamgee (but will stand corrected on that one)
My concern was that if a poster is entering clues under 3 or 4 different names, then when it comes to voting, if 2 or 3 of them vote for the 3rd or 4th name from the same poster, then
Firstly, that person is at an unfair advantage with 2 or 3 guaranteed votes.
Secondly, if they vote as voting opens at the earliest point, then many others will tend to follow, especially if the clue is not fully understood and people vote because they see a few early votes all directed at one clue and feel a little embarrassed at asking for a parse, they will just vote anyway and bypass other well constructed clues (this has been another issue recently)
Thirdly, if this gains the multiple voter a win that week, then there's no stopping them doing it again the week after and even creating more new names to secure more wins, thus tying the all voting system up and closing it off to others having the chance of a winning clue..

It would be good to hear some feedback from Red elf
Also, could Imagcq feedback too to shed some light on the mix up when I never even suspected him of any of this.

If anyone decides that they dislike me for this, I wont be losing any sleep over it because (as jazzgirl says) it's all meant to be in good fun and like I said earlier, it's just a little irksome, it's not gonna change my life. I will still continue to enjoy the site.

You do seem to know an awful lot of facts Les40 and you urge certain parties to either own up or... oh! you didn't say what the other choice was - probably the only other choice is to agree with you.
And now you have divined that people will mimic cleverer people's votes out of embarrassment. That's just about taken care of everybody bar your good self.
Does it really matter who wins? if somebody goes to the lengths that you suggest then let him/her have their moment, it won't change your life.

Can you all please stop behaving like children in the playground. The Forum is meant to be a friendly world where you all chat about crosswords (and other things). Please restrict your activities to those fields, keep it friendly and stop this obnoxious behaviour which is spoiling things for other users of the /forum.

You all enjoy using the Forum and Ash has put a lot of time, trouble and money into providing this for your benefit. If you carry on in this manner then he will have to consider shutting down the Forum which would be a big shame for everyone.

I am still on my holiday in Benidorm and have far better things to do than deal with this nonsense so let's have no more, please.
