HI Mondrian
I have only just returned home, so missed your message. I parsed 2d as (fl)utter (don't start to flicker i.e. (fl) utter) I can't see how gutter means flicker as scorpiojo has said but maybe I have missed something.
My garden is amass with flowers; the Honeysuckle about to bloom any day and the Verbena burkwoodii already in flower. I had a Magnolia tree but it died a few years back. I find them difficult to grow here. Best wishes. Jg
