I've already recycled my crossword so cannot remember the clues, but 21a is another name for a child's spinning top . The musical (reversed) is Gigi

Like Mondrian I'm stuck on 18d. It's driving me mad. Gone through quick solve and my xword machine and can't see the logic in any of the options. The nearest I can see is possibly "tight" for compact but seed? Help?

Many thanks Scorpoijo. I think a Homeric expostulation of doh is called for. Though having said that have you ever tried working out cryptic clues at the same time as giving your spouse hints & clues to the quick crosswords she's doing
