Going to try to get to grips with this new crossword but not good with cryptic clues so looking for help to get started

I don't normally do cryptics either but had a go at the 'quick' today and finished it (albeit with a little help). Found it quite reasonable...

I also am not very good at doing cryptic clues - or at the very least, it takes me a while to do them! I have attempted the new Times Quick Cryptic no 2 today though and have managed all but two - never say die.....

That's the spirit Elle, yourself Robin and Magic will be dab hands before you know it.

I was convinced for a long time that I could not get my head around cryptics, but it does fall in place eventually.

A good starting point is looking for 'indicators', don't be offended by the name of this link. :-)
