At my local Indian restaurant , the staff pronounce it 'rate r'

Isn't 'weight' supposed to be pronounced as 'wate', (altho no one ever seems to do so ) - as opposed to 'height' which is pronounced 'hite)

What did you think about my comment about the pronunciation of 'weight? ( or have I dreamt that?!)

I have always heard weight pronounced as ."wate" (rhyming with slate or ate)

I was puzzled by that, elle - I don't think I have heard it pronounced anything other than WATE - what alternative have you heard?

But not with brussels pate ( that's pattay ) :)
