21 down: Something with yoghurt more 8 to our ears? (5)

I have r?i?a and the answer would seem to be raita.

I see the definition part, please can someone explain the 'more 8 to our ears' ? Thank you

'Raita' sounds like 'righter' - and that chimes perfectly with the answer to 8 Down ('Against changing leader that's fit' (8)).

Thanks for all your help. It seems a poor clue on several counts . Firstly, the clue seems to me not to read well at all! Also the answer depends on the pronunciation of a most unfamiliar word!

I have always heard it pronounced like RYVITA, but without the V, obviously.
