Why is the first clue always the hardest, I'm stuck on 7 across
Wet sound of one behind a sitter? (5) I've got ? P ? a ?
I think the answer is Splat but cannot parse this. Help or assurance needed please.

I found this a real beast this week! I spent several hours on it yesterday (perhaps I was tired) and only finished it this morning. Top right corner gave me the most difficulty, but (I think) I got there in the end.

I didn't get my copy until today but finally finished.
11a took ages and 19d I missed the hidden and was trying to anagram "has to" :( Brain definitely not up to par
