i saw #1 straightaway, but had to check the spelling - the alternative is commoner, i think

I see #s 1 & 3 on reading but yet again I'm not in the best condition for mental rigour. "Must try harder" rings distant bells!

Surprisingly, I now have #s 1-4, and a possible answer for #5 which I'm not quite parsing, yet.
