For anyone that likes number puzzles this week's Listener is a good one and not too strenuous.

Yes, I'd go further and say it's probably the easiest ever published - should be a really big entry.

Hi Sudoku
Usually get on well with the Listener maths/arith puzzles. Everyone says this is easy but in three hours I cannot see the way in. Am well armed with long liusts of primes and squares. Can you unlock it. Nice to talk Hope your well Cheers

Not usually my cup of tea but a friend talked me into it and with a bit of a kick start I completed it.

How he helped me start was the following:

eg 8d can only be 25 or 36 (no 2 digit squares begin with 5 or 7) and as 7a is a prime 8d must be 36

6d starts with1,4 or 9 but there are no 2 digit squares beginning with 9 so must be 16 or 49 – it’s that kind of logic that sorts it out.

Hope that helps

I enjoy number puzzles but just couldn't get into this. Was about to throw it away this morning when thought to look and see if anyone had given some hints.

Thank you so much dja
