The clue is:-
Thinks what a glass might do (7) ????e??

I wonder if this is REFLECT but this answer is not the same tense as the clue. I'm not happy with it. Can anyone help me with a better suggestion?

Offhand, I cannot think of anything better. But I take your point about the grammar.
If the answer IS 'reflect', then "thinks what a glass does" would be a better clue!
