Really struggling with this, which is a fiendish "printer's devilry" concoction, in which the word which is the solution has been removed from the clue, and the spaces joined up. Can anyone help, in the first instance with 18a: A well-known liking? Few for a ride (6). I have *ri*ta. Could be "arista" or "crista", but I can't wangle either into the clue, so that it makes some sort of sense. Plenty more where that one came from.
Thank you. Any chance of a nudge with:

24d: Despite commendation for my race performance, it wasn't amended: d**I*a.
I just can't get the hang of these PD puzzles.
