I suppose that by the rather tenuous standards of this setter, bitter could cause unhappiness if taken in excess.
As someone has said already, this type of thing is becoming more common - as is slang. Today we have 6D's answer as AINT!

Elle, so sorry, no disrespect intended! I was agreeing with jazzgirl's comment that this sort of thing had been happening quite a lot recently. Your grammatical analysis of course also spot on...

Thank you to all who responded to my first remark & yes we liked winter rather than bitter but do draw the line at AINT! We loved jazzgirl's tongue twister ..... @her sense of humour!!

Have just read your post mentioning "Betty Botter"
In fact it made me quite sad because it reminded me of our late great Canon Henry Lamb who recited this tongue twister to my beautiful (late) sister Betty when he visited our family home in his Parish, She died aged 53. Sorry crossworders for the deviation & thanks jazzgirl. I'll now look it up on Google. Nice memories.
