I suspect 45a has no definition, the others may have misprints in their definitions.

33 - Difficult to give gentle hint- plural name for young salmon abandoning lake, minus l, gives a word meaning shudders with fear?

33a Young salmon "grilses" minus "l" for lake makes "grises" (=shudders)

Have the 4 that must TAKE HEED, and have had the 7 clashes for a while now (which spell out 2 words).
But can't see a theme, and thus quotation.
Again a gentle hint would be appreciated.
